About the COZIL Travel Grants
The LSA Committee on LGBTQ+ [Z] in Linguistics (COZIL) is offering two (2) travel grants in the amount of $500 each to support the participation of LGBTQ+ individuals in the 2025 LSA Annual Meeting in Philadelphia from January 9-12.
Eligibility
- Applicants for this award must be:
- Current students, enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in linguistics or a related field,
- Members of the LSA,
- Members of an LGBTQ+ community, defined broadly to include anyone who is not heterosexual and cisgender.
- Any student may apply, regardless of whether they have an accepted abstract at the conference.
- Awardees must commit to attending the LSA meeting in person for four days, and will be expected to join the COZIL committee meeting.
Timeline
- Nominations will open in the spring of 2025.
- Decisions will be announced in mid-September to allow awardees enough time to make travel plans.
Selection
The Committee on LGBTQ+ [Z] in Linguistics (COZIL) reviews nominations and makes recommendations to the Executive Committee, which must formally approve the recommendations.
