Margaret Weigers Vitullo, Executive Director (she/her)

Before becoming executive director of the Linguistic Society of America, Margaret was the deputy director of the American Sociological Association, served as the chair of the sociology department at Gallaudet University, and worked as a research scientist in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. She served as a consultant to the AAAS Science and Human Rights Program in Haiti, Guatemala, and South Africa, providing technical assistance on the application of social science research methods to human rights data collection and analysis. She received her Ph.D. and M.A. in sociology from the University of Michigan and a B.A. in sociology and managerial studies from Rice University. In her free time she enjoys hiking, reading, visiting museums, and long conversations over good food with friends. 
 

Jeannie Haubert, Consulting Director for Strategic Initiatives (she/her)

Jeannie has worked as a director at scholarly associations since 2022, first at the American Sociological Association, and now at the Linguistic Society of America. Before that, she had a long career as Professor and Department Chair of Sociology, Criminology, and Anthropology at Winthrop University. She became department chair the same year as having twins and achieved full professorship before age forty. She has published an edited volume on disaster recovery following Hurricane Katrina as well as several book chapters and peer reviewed articles on disasters, housing discrimination, and attitudes towards immigrants. Jeannie received her Ph.D. and M.A. in Sociology from Tulane University and her B.A. in Spanish and Sociology from Furman University.  She most enjoys international travel, yoga, and family time.
 

Vy Le, Membership and Governance Director (she/her)

Vy Le has fifteen years of professional experience in the nonprofit and association sector. Before joining the LSA Secretariat team, Vy served on the staff of associations in Australia across the agricultural, education, and health industries with responsibilities included communications, policy, marketing, project management, business development, operation, governance, and membership. She is passionate about equal opportunity for all, especially in leadership and education provision. Vy received her MBA and Master of Marketing Management from the University of Canberra and Master of Project Management from the Australian National University. She is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the America Society of Association Executives.
