COGEL Travel Grant

About the COGEL Travel Grants

The COGEL Travel Awards are intended to broaden participation of students of all genders in the Annual Meeting, and to support students whose research brings gender issues to the forefront.
 
(Note: this award is contingent on EC approval of the committee’s annual budget request)


Eligibility

  • Applicants for this award must be:
    • Current students, enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in linguistics or a related field
    • Members of the LSA
  • Any student may apply, regardless of whether they have an accepted abstract at the conference.
  • Awardees must commit to attending the LSA meeting in person for four days, and will be expected to join the COGEL committee meeting.

Timeline

  • Nomination closes at 11:59 PM (ET) on July 15, 2025.
  • Decisions will be announced in mid-September to allow awardees enough time to make travel plans.

Selection

The Committee on Gender Equity in Linguistics (COGEL) reviews nominations and makes recommendations to the Executive Committee, which must formally approve the recommendations.
