Ethics
The LSA is committed to helping linguists in research, teaching, and practice settings to do their work in an ethical manner, while also promoting the ethical use of linguistics research findings. To that end, the Society has established an Ethics Committee charged with encouraging linguists to actively engage with the ethical issues that arise in the course of their professional activities and to foster increased discussion of ethics within the discipline.
Additionally, we provide resources in the dropdown menu to the left to help linguists think deeply and act responsibly, with integrity and care, in the arena of the scientific study of language.
