Linguistics in Higher Education Committee

Background
Created in 2009.
Charge
To provide a forum for discussion for those who wish to discuss the following topics:
- The advancement and promotion of linguistics education at US colleges and universities
- The collection of data on faculty, students, graduates, and other information as relevant to the maintenance and growth of linguistics programs and departments.
- The diversity of pedagogical contexts across undergraduate programs and student bodies.
- The variety of challenges faced by faculty who teach linguistics in a multitude of pedagogical contexts.
The result of the discussions in the committee may lead to workshops, mini-courses, symposia, etc. In collaboration with the Executive Director, participate in an annual roundtable of department/program heads at future LSA Annual Meetings.

Ideally, the committee should include:
- At least one member of the Executive Committee
- Others as interested
