About the webinar
This webinar, hosted by the Committee on Endangered Languages and their Preservation (CELP), will share current projects, future opportunities, and the results of a workshop break-out session.
The workshop, “Reciprocity and Accountability in Collaborative Language Work” focused on “Data Collection” and “Giving Back”, which individuals understand differently depending on their position and background. Workshop concepts were discussed in terms of relational accountability, examples of intellectual merits and broader impacts in NEH-funded language work, and researchers’ positionality in “giving back” vs. “bringing back”. Each of the organizers was posted at a break-out session station to facilitate conversation along with guided questions on community organization, formal cooperative agreements, research investment in communities, community investment in researchers, and relations in language communities.
Results are summarized, discussed, and opened for further questions and engagement with webinar participants. That information will be summarized, discussed, and opened for questions and conversation with webinar participants.
