Introduction to JBLAC Webinar

This introductory webinar will provide an overview of the Journal of Black Language and Culture (JBLAC)'s mission, scope, and goals, with time allocated for audience Q&A. During this session, we'll introduce JBLAC's lead editorial team, the journal's vision of creating a dedicated interdisciplinary platform for Black language and culture scholarship, and what makes JBLAC unique from other journals. 

By the end of the webinar, participants will:

• Understand JBLAC's commitments as an intervention in scholarly publishing 
• Know what type of scholarship is appropriate to submit to the journal and JBLAC's key rubrics for evaluation
• Understand the relationship between JBLAC and the LSA SOBLAC SIG

Overall, in addition to learning about the journal's goals, participants will also have the opportunity to envision how their own scholarship might connect to JBLAC's mission and contribute to a broader scholarly community.
