About the webinar
FGAE invites all linguists (i.e., both first-gens
and supporters of first-gens) to an online abstract writing workshop. Topics covered will include how to find conferences, what an abstract is, and how to structure an abstract. Special considerations for theoretical vs. experimental abstracts will be discussed. We will end with a block of accountability writing time for those who want to put their newly acquired skills into practice. For this session, we will be joined by Wesley Lincoln and Mikaela Bellem, two of the organizers of the
Penn Linguistics Conference 48 (abstract deadline: November 17, 2024!). Although the content is targeted to upper-level undergraduate students and early-career graduate students, we more than welcome the participation of established scholars and who wish to express solidarity and share writing tips!
