Delia Graff Fara

The LSA is saddened to learn of the passing of Delia Graff Fara. She was an eminent philosopher of language who made exceptional contributions to her field. According to colleagues, she was an engaged member of the philosophy community, an extremely conscientious teacher, and an exemplary citizen. Colleagues and classmates further described her as a fearless advocate for people who were vulnerable or marginalized and as bold, strong, incisive, and cool. Fara had been an assistant, associate, and full professor at Cornell and Princeton Universities.
