The Linguistic Society of America works with media representatives from across the country and around the world, facilitating reporters’ efforts to apply the work of linguists to the coverage of critical issues and events.

LSA members who wish to nominate themselves or someone else to serve as a Media Resource, please email the following in the form of a link to a folder (e.g., on Box, Dropbox, or Google Drive) or website URL to Georgia Zellou, Public Relations Committee Chair (email available in Member Directory).

A cover letter, not to exceed 1 page including the following, in order:

  1. A brief statement of how the nominee’s expertise and communicative skills make them well-suited to serve as a first-responder to the mainstream media and public.
  2. A statement indicating the nominee’s experience interfacing with the media.
  3. A link to the nominee’s CV (attaching a PDF is allowable, if no URL is available).
  4. A brief bio (100 to 150 words) written in layperson’s language that relates their expertise to current news issues. 
  5. A list of 4-6 keywords related to the bio and the nominee’s expertise.
