Links of Interest to Students
The Committee on Student Issues and Concerns (COSIAC) provides an opportunity for students to make their voices heard on issues of particular interest.
The LSA Linguistic Institute, held in odd-numbered summers, provides an intensive program of conferences, workshops, and courses taught by leading scholars from throughout the field. Support is available for the Institute, including the Bloch and other named fellowships.
The LSA provides general guidelines for graduate study, and our Directory of Programs and Departments and Membership Directory allow prospective students to fine-tune their search by area of specialization, region, language, or language family.
The LSA provides resources for job interviewees, including a variety of student-centered activities at the Annual Meeting, a guide to jobs and interviewing in our field, and a job interview service available at no charge to annual meeting registrants.
The LSA provides one year's free membership in the Society to recent recipients of the Ph.D. degree in recognition of this signal scholarly achievement as well as the straitened financial circumstances in which many recent graduates find themselves.

Get Involved
Students are also encouraged to get involved with the LSA by serving on one of many LSA committees. In particular, the Committee on Student Issues and Concerns, chaired by the Bloch Fellow, is intended to be composed primarily of students. View a complete list of the LSA's committees.
