Membership Categories and Dues for 2008/2009
An individual may join the LSA as a regular member, or as a student member
if he or she is enrolled as a student at a college or university. Regular
or student membership is for a calendar year, payable in advance in US
dollars only. One may also join or renew as a Life Member, which eliminates the need
for future dues payments. Approximately 75% of membership dues goes to the production
of Language and eLanguage. Note that all memberships purchased today (other than Life Memberships)
are valid through 31 December 2009.
A $10 fee will be assessed on all memberships with non-U.S. addresses to cover additional postal expenses.
New Members: $30 (Special welcome rate!)
Returning/renewing Members: $45
Regular Memberships:
New or Returning Members: $110
Life Memberships: $1500, payable in two equal annual installments.
Members who have maintained 40 years of continuous membership are eligible for a Complimentary Life Membership. Members who have maintained 20 years of continuous membership and who have retired from the regular exercise of the profession may be eligible for Emeritus Status.
